Atomium Escalator: Travelling through hyperspace in the Belgian tourist attraction
Responding tactfully and humorously to criticism on social media is a fine art and one that's difficult to master, but Reese's has demonstrated how to do it with the #AllTreesAreBeautiful hashtag and some great content.
Twitter recently twigged that the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Christmas trees didn't resemble Christmas trees, looking more like chocolate arrow heads. The social media snowball grew and pretty soon everyone was tweeting pictures of their misshapen treats.

Although some of the pieces looked a bit melty, which didn't help their poorly defined branches, Reese's posted the perfect response – images of their chunky trees posing with things that looked like them, accompanied by the hashtag #AllTreesAreBeautiful.

The sweet shaming soon stopped making it a perfect example of a brand turning the tables on its critics and gaining their respect in the process. And the “woke up like this” was a nice touch too.
