Mark started doing freelance work for Choc Edge in 2014, initially to develop methods for creating 3D and 2D designs that could be printed in chocolate, whether that be text, logos or more complex shapes.
Over the following two years he also helped to define the parameters that are used for printing in chocolate to get the best and most reliable results possible.
Working closely with Choc Edge’s team of engineers Mark helped push forward what it’s possible to print with the Choc Creator, introducing several innovations that helped to extend the range of services the company was able to offer customers. This included reliable and true 3D printing in chocolate, for models such as scanned 3D heads.
Mark also built the Choc Edge website, including the creation of all of its content, and managed Choc Edge’s social media channels. The website has not only helped to give the brand a stronger identity but it has also helped to increase sales and visitor engagement, and reduced the site’s bounce rate by around 20%.
In addition to this Mark was responsible for organising important promotional videos such as Nokia’s #Chokia social media campaign where he worked with the company to produce a video for Easter demonstrating 3D printing in chocolate. He also gave talks on Chocolate Printing, including a presentation for families at the Cambridge Science Centre. Mark was filmed during the presentation and featured in Elemental Ideas – Best of the Science Festival for Cambridge TV
Choc Edge is at the forefront of the food printing industry and with Mark’s innovations has been able to offer a new level of customisation and personalisation that makes it stand out from the competition
